Hi There, We are the Mathis Family!

Our family farm is rooted in Fischer, TX on the beautiful Blanco River—a place where the rhythms of nature guide everything we do.

We grow food the way it was meant to be grown: with care, patience, and deep respect for the land. Using organic, no-till practices, we never rely on synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides. Instead, we invest in the life beneath our feet—building rich, living soil through composting, planting diverse cover crops, and practicing thoughtful rotational grazing.

We believe that truly good food starts long before harvest. It begins with healthy soil, clean water, and a commitment to stewardship that ensures this land will thrive for generations to come. Every vegetable, every product we offer is a reflection of that philosophy—nutrient-dense, thoughtfully grown, and deeply connected to the place it comes from.

More than anything, our farm is about community and connection. We want to make it easier for families to access food they can trust, food that nourishes not just the body but the relationship we all share with the land. For our children, this work is especially meaningful. They are growing up with dirt on their hands, learning firsthand where food comes from, how it’s grown, and why it matters.

When you bring our food to your table, you’re not just supporting a local farm—you’re becoming part of a story rooted in care, integrity, and a shared belief that how we grow our food truly matters.

Jason and Casey Mathis met in 2013 in San Marcos, TX where we began our organic gardening journey. Ever since then, we’ve always maintained gardens and raised animals. After living in the Austin area for over 15 years and then having our first child, we felt the urge to relocate somewhere quieter and a little further out of town. We feel so lucky to have stumbled upon our property in Fischer. When we first stepped foot on this piece of land, you could feel how fertile the soil was and we knew we had stumbled upon something truly special. We spent the first year planting fruit trees, sowing cover crops, and really trying to continue to build upon our soil health.

Jason has a background in Metal Sculpture Art/Welding and Construction. Casey has a background in Horticulture and Landscape Design. Together, we own Mathis Designs, a Design + Build firm that serves the Greater Austin area from concept to completion. When we aren’t working or farming, you can find us swimming in the river, riding our motorcycles around the Hill Country, or traveling.

We currently raise laying hens and Dorper sheep and grow fruits and vegetables in our regenerative, no-till garden. We planted 150 fruit trees in our 10 acre orchard, where we rotate our animals.
